Debut Novel Published!

When I first started typing to write Have a Good Life for an English assignment, I never imagined it would become a published novel. This story is deeply personal, capturing the raw and often messy journey of high school through the eyes of Sam, a kid who didn’t expect to survive those years, let alone find meaning in them. Released on January 27th, 2026, this debut novel is a collection of journal entries, letters, and dreams that reveal what it feels like to be lost, to find your people, and to realize that life doesn’t always come with answers.

The Story Behind the Story

Sam’s journey is one many of today's teenagers can relate to, especially if you’ve ever felt invisible or out of place. The novel doesn’t follow a traditional POV's but instead uses different formats to tell the story. This approach gives readers an intimate look at Sam’s thoughts and emotions, making the experience feel authentic and immediate.

What stands out is how music and genuine connections slowly pull Sam out of his isolation. It’s not about dramatic transformations or quick fixes. Instead, it’s about small moments of understanding and the comfort of having someone willing to go nowhere with you. This idea resonates deeply because it reflects real life: sometimes, just being there for someone is enough.

Why This Novel Matters

Have a Good Life speaks to anyone who has ever felt lost or unsure about their place in the world. It reminds us that it’s okay not to have all the answers and that finding your people can change everything. The novel’s format, using journal entries and letters, makes it feel like you’re reading a close friend’s private thoughts, which adds to its emotional impact.

For readers who enjoy stories about personal growth and connection, this book offers a fresh perspective. It doesn’t sugarcoat the struggles of adolescence but shows how those struggles can lead to unexpected hope and belonging.
